If you ask me, there's some kind of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds thing happening here.

Is this a real sea creature?
Distance is important. Sea creatures that live, say, in the Mariana Trench, a place where no human can ever go except with the technological armor of deep-sea mini-subs...perhaps they can be majestic, but they also (as the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds reference suggests) are quite surreal and somewhat bizarre.
So, my question is, can bizarre and surreal creatures be majestic? Yes, I think so, but they are also something else--otherworldly...and something else, I can't quite place it.
