My friend K. had me do a personality test. I really do think this sounds like me.
This could be one of the most reflexive blog posts in the history of the world.

Of course you are neglecting to mention your Harry Potter personality... remember that? ;)
jxeye (n): jinx in the eye - for example, a pink eye spell, or a pupil enlargement spell
Oh yes...I also did this Harry Potter-based personality quiz.
I may or may not have been Valdemort. Karitas, didn't you suspect that I would be Valdemort?
jxeye: the female of a breed of sheep particular to Wales.
And now for something completely different: I saw a story on the Post-Gazette website about this online dating service, www.ScientificMatch.com. The premise: DNA matching, based on the smelly t-shirt tests of last decade (I believe it was in the 90s).
qjxkvc: shorthand for "quixotic kvetch"
About time. Many an evening have I spent across a table from a suitor, distracted by my uncertainty about the potential immune systems of any offspring we might sire.
I like how chemical matching is meant to lessen the chance that women would cheat.
Could you use this in a class as an example of dissociation (chemistry)?
When I first did Myers Briggs in 11th grade, I was ENTP. Then, after college, I was ENTJ. I went from perceiving the world to judging it. This felt comfortable.
Have I ever mentioned my M-B experience? No? They gave us the test at nerd camp after ninth grade, they gave us the test, and said (I was 13 or 14). After we took it the psychologist said that anything over 50 was very extreme in that characteristic, and asked if any of us had scored over 50 in a characteristic. When I said that I'd gone over 50 on two axes, she was visibly taken aback.
(Over 50 on N and P, more normal scores on I and F.)
squaatw: Do I have to spell it out?
S-Q-U-A-A-T-W
It seems rather astonishing that I was ever not described by this:
"Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off."
If this blog entry gets more comments then the piece I just got published over at alterNet, I'm gonna be depressed.
(And it actually looks like it could happen).
I take that as a challenge from Mark. Whether to comment more here, or comment there, I cannot say - but a challenge nonetheless.
I'm Dumbledore, Harry Potter/Myers Briggs wise, FYI. And for anyone who hasn't taken the MBTI/HP test, here it is: http://piratemonkeysinc.com/quiz.php
20 mins to a new, and doubtless frustrating, episode of LOST!
Well, Huffington Post is about to run it now, so there will be at least 50 posts calling me an Obamabot (even though it's not true).
50 might be an exagerration. It might only be 48.
Best to post here and see if we can top it. I'm willing to pitch in.
G.O.: am I correctly inferring that you too are an INTP? Based on our interactions, I would think you were more of an INTP.5. Or -.5.
Scroll halfway down for a MB score percentage breakdown for the US.

Check out the perceiver/judger difference.
Dusty, I wonder if we P's would J if we felt capable.
Also G, how much do I love that you went to nerd camp.
K: I want Dumbledore to get your haircut.
sinjtnnm: (n) the letterform that looks half like an e and half like an a that French students use on tests whent they're not sure of the gender of noun.
No, I tested as an INFP. It's just that that bit of the INTP description seemed to fit me so well.
And I was, like, seriously P. And seriously N, which is totally unsurprising, because I am always thinking of alternatives to things and have trouble keeping to the topic.
Okay. How are you an F and not a T? I hereby renounce all faith in the M&B thing.
Which is not to say, dear G.O., that you are not a delicate flower. The F must just be that enigmatic quality that so enraptures us your fans.
htniy: (n) a grain so coarse as to be used for drilling
Well, this was almost 25 years ago (gulp), when I was perhaps even more of a sensitive flower than I am today. And also it's all based on self-assessment and maybe I wanted to be an F.
